Meet the Team At Travelers Rest Animal Hospital

At Travelers Rest Animal Hospital we have a team dedicated to bringing pinnacle veterinary care to the pets and pet families of the Travelers Rest, SC community. Our staff and veterinarians work together to provide the highest level of veterinary care and outcomes in an honest and dedicated environment.

Veterinarians

Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips

Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips, DVM
Veterinarian

Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips are both graduates of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bryant grew up in Simpsonville, SC where he enjoyed showing horses and playing basketball. He has fond childhood memories of assisting his father, Dr. Ben Phillips, which led him to complete a B.S. in Biology at Furman University. Dr. Kelley grew up on a cattle farm in Disputanta, Virginia where she enjoyed riding horses and playing soccer. She began pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian with a B.S. in Animal and Dairy Science at Auburn. They both credit their parents for encouragement and support that culminated in their success as veterinarians. Together their mission is to daily share the love of Jesus Christ by serving people and helping their pets.

Jennifer Given

Veterinarian

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jennifer Given to our Travelers Rest Animal Hospital team! Dr. Given received her B.S. in Biology at the College of Charleston, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. Along with her husband Sam and adorable fur babies, she resides in Travelers Rest and enjoys exploring the foothills of our beautiful community.

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid, DVM
Veterinarian

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid were both born and raised in Greenville but met each other and got married while working together at Travelers Rest Animal Hospital. Dr. Jennifer graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, while Dr. Will graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. That makes things a little interesting around the television in their house on Saturdays during the fall! Dr. Will got his DVM at Mississippi State University, and Dr. Jen got hers at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Before coming back home to Greenville, Dr. Jen spent two years practicing in a mixed animal practice in Switzerland, where she learned to speak Swiss German. Dr. Will loves to hunt and fish in his spare time (when he is not working in the yard). Dr. Jen enjoys tagging along on those trips as well as hiking, horseback riding, reading, and crocheting. They also enjoy spending time together with friends and family as often as possible. Their favorite part of working at Travelers Rest Animal Hospital is the kind-spirited family atmosphere that is fostered between the staff, clients, and patients.

Cathey Roseveare

Dr. Cathey Roseveare, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Roseveare has been with us on a part-time basis since February 2012. She is from Atlanta and received her DVM from the University of Georgia. Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Carolina. In addition to serving at CPAH, Dr. Roseveare is an adjunct professor at Spartanburg Community College where she teaches Anatomy and Physiology.

Dr. Roreveare's quiet gentle nature make her a joy to work with.  She is an excellent practitioner, and a valued member of our staff. Her schedule allows her to follow her dream and passion for veterinary medicine. It also gives her time for her first priority: being a wife and mother.  She and her husband, Mark, have created a warm and loving home for their daughters, a cat named "Chewey," and a dog named "Cookie."

Andy Roark

Dr. Andy Roark, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Andy Roark grew up in Statesville, NC and attended Davidson College before moving to Washington DC to work at the National Institutes of Health and volunteer at the National Zoo. Dr. Roark has a Master’s degree in Zoology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida. He received the Veterinarian of the Year Award from the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians in 2018, and loves to write articles for veterinary publications. Dr. Roark has two daughters, a naughty Goldendoodle named Skipper, and a wonderful wife (who is a professor at Furman University).

Margaret Hunt, DVM

Dr. Margaret Hunt, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Margaret Hunt earned both her B.S. in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. She moved to South Carolina in 2015 and now calls Travelers Rest her home.

She enjoys gardening, volunteering with local charitable groups, and spending time with family and friends. Her Boston Terrier, Hopscotch, is her constant companion.

Shannon Bowen

Office Manager

Shannon Bowen was born and raised in Travelers Rest. She began her work with animals more than 20 years ago at the Greenville Humane Society. After leaving there she found work in animal hospitals around the Greenville area. She also found a home at the local blood banking center where she enjoyed the direct impact that her work had on lives in the community. She joined Travelers Rest Animal Hospital in June 2017 and is so happy to be working in the same town that she lives and grew up in.  In November 2017, Shannon accepted the practice manager position within the hospital, managing the wonderful staff in addition.

Shannon also holds her Bachelors of Social Work degree and is pursuing her Masters degree in Social Work with Limestone University and has a great passion for mental health and wellness. When she is not working or studying, you can find Shannon at home with her wonderful husband Brian and their 4 dogs and 8 cats. 

Sara Tate

Sara is a native of Florida. At 14, she got a job with a veterinary clinic working in the kennels and worked her way up to a veterinary technician. During her 33 years of experience she has worked in emergency care as well as general practice veterinary clinics. She moved to SC in 1998 with her husband and continued to work as a veterinary technician in the Greer area. She started at trAH in the summer of 2005. Her love for animal care, the community and it’s people keep her doing what she loves. She lives in the beautiful Blue Ridge area with her husband Matt and youngest son. Currently, she has two dogs, five cats, goldfish and one koi. (subject to change!) She now specializes in Customer Care.

Emily Raines

Emily joined trAH in 2007. She and her family moved here from Washington state and planted their roots here in South Carolina. She has worked as a veterinary technician for 23 years and obtained her Veterinary Technician license in 2010. In all her years here, she has had many responsibilties. Her current one is being our triage nurse. When she is away from work she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, Jason and daughter, Prestin. She also enjoys helping her daughter compete in Motocross. They have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 7 boxed turtles and 2 Sulcata tortoises. Can you tell she loves turtles and tortoises?

Ashton was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Travelers Rest where she currently lives. Before starting her journey in the veterinary field, she and her husband were stationed in Fort Drum, NY for four years while her husband was active duty in the Army. Leaving NY to get closer to family they were then stationed at Fort Benning, GA for another four years. Seven years ago, Ashton decided to start working in the Veterinary field getting her certificate in veterinary assistance and dog obedience training; she started her journey with trAH in 2017. While she loves the veterinary field, Ashton decided to go back to school late 2016. She is currently enrolled at Limestone College for her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management. She will be graduating Dec 2019 She is looking forward to graduating in early 2020. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, Grayson, husband Jonathan, friends, and family. She has a senior dog Pepper and a 3 cats.

Tristan Harvey

Receptionist

Tristan began working at trAH in the summer of 2008. She started her career here as a kennel technician but when a position as a receptionist opened in 2011 she readily accepted it. She has been one of the smiling faces at the reception desk ever since. She loves her work as a receptionist because she is able to meet and help the owners of all our wonderful patients. She has lived in Travelers Rest since 2000 with her husband, Travis. When Tristan is not checking patients in for their appointments, she enjoys taking her son Easton to the park. She also enjoys hiking, boating, going to classic car shows and spending time with family and friends.

Carrie Adams

Carrie was born and raised in Berea SC.  She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2006 and received her Veterinary Assistant certification from Greenville Tech in April 2007 which is also when she began working at trAH. In 2012 she went back to school and graduated from Greenville technnical College as a surgical assistant in 2014. She now works with us part time. 

She lives in Travelers Rest with her husband Bobby and their daughter Mackenzie and son Griffin. They are active members at Renfrew Baptist church where they work with youth. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. 

Lauren Mauldin

Lauren Mauldin was born and raised in Travelers Rest, SC. She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2015 and pursued a passion in animal studies. Lauren became a member of our team February 2017 and began work as a Kennel Technician, shortly after she then moved to Reception where she plans to stay. She and her husband, Blake enjoy spending time with their 2 dogs, Scout and Fifi, their 2 cats, Betsy and Akilah and their 2 daughters, Arabella and Karline. Lauren loves having the opportunity to see and care for so many different breeds and species of animals and she looks forward to many years with us here at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital.

Amber Burrell

Amber grew up in the Blue Ridge area. She graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2013 where she majored in Veterinary Assisting. She has been with us since 2015, working as a kennel manager and now a receptionist. She has three dogs; two Dachshunds named Dora and Diego, and a chocolate Labrador named Maggie. She also has a cat named Hollister, who thinks he's one of the dogs. Amber enjoys trips to the mountains and camping with her husband and daughter.

 

Erica Knight

Erica has been with Travelers Rest Animal Hospital since October of 2018 but you may only see her on a Saturday here and there. She works full-time for a financial planner in Greenville and is only here on a part-time basis. Her dad is an Army Veteran and as a family, they moved from state to state pretty frequently. She is thankful that eventually, they settled so close to her mom’s hometown of Travelers Rest.

Erica has found a passion for senior dog rescue and really enjoys giving all of the purest joy and love possible to the older dogs in the rescue/humane society. She and her husband, Jon, have a very sassy daughter that has completely engulfed their lives with light and even shares their same commitment to rescue animal welfare.

Shea Tankersley

Shea was born and raised here in the Travelers Rest area. After graduating from Travelers Rest High School in 2015, Shea went on to Greenville Technical College and in May of 2019 completed an Associate’s Degree of Science in Business Management. She joined Travelers Rest Animal Hospital in July of 2019 working as a Receptionist and has quickly learned to enjoy the fast-paced environment working with the community and their animals. When away from work Shea enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her husband, and her two dogs, Lilah and Ben.

Abigail  Carlson

Born in Alabama, Abigail has lived in four states before settling in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating high school in Alabama, she then went on to graduate from the University of South Alabama in 2019 with a Bachelors's in English. She moved to the Upstate two years ago with her border collie mix, Rileigh, who immediately took to hiking.

A few months after moving, she began working at Travelers Rest Animal Hospital and has enjoyed it ever since. Along with a love for fur babies, Abigail enjoys traveling and a good Netflix show. Her passions include a good cup of coffee, an adventure book, and a cozy night in.

 

 

Jessica Clark

Jessica joined the Travelers Rest Animal Hospital team in July of 2020. She is a recent graduate from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s in Biology. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology at Clemson University. In her free time, Jessica and her boyfriend love to take their two dogs, Charlie and Frankie, on hikes, fly fishing trips, and foraging throughout the Pisgah National Forest. When she isn't outdoors, Jessica enjoys relaxing and knitting beside her cats, Goop and Princess Lil Butt.

Hollye Thompson

Hollye was born and raised in California. After graduating from Paradise High School, she chose to get certified in Veterinary Assisting. She worked at Butte Humane Society for two years until she decided the island life was for her and moved to Hawaii. Eventually, her family brought her back to the mainland where she began her career in the Mortuary field in Arizona. After a 6 year stay in Phoenix, she decided, once again, to move to be closer to her family. She ended up here in South Carolina. After being here for only 1 week she found Travelers Rest Animal Hospital and fell in love!

She has moved across the country with her two rescue kitties, Ziggy and Candy, and her bearded dragon Pablo. Her passions include traveling, gardening, and caring for animals. If she's not at work you can find her reading a good horror novel or dancing the night away at a music festival.

Heather Nix

Heather Nix was raised in Travelers Rest and graduated from Greenville Tech in 2005 with 2 degrees- one in Small Animal Care and the other in Veterinary Technology. She has been a veterinary technician for 13 years, and started at Cleveland Park in March of 2013. She is a huge hound lover, and enjoys giving extra kisses to any four legged creature with long, floppy ears! She feels incredibly blessed that God has allowed her the opportunity to work in such a wonderful career field. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, including her 8 four legged “children”- Tilly, Griffin, Clark, Ajax, Pax, Stella, Franklin, and Beatrice. Heather is also big on pet nutrition, and has toured the Hill’s Pet Food facility in Topeka Kansas, so feel free to ask her about Science Diet and the research that goes into their pet food...and all the cute beagles that reside there!

Kayla Meyer

Kayla Pope has been a part of Travelers Rest Animal  since May of 2009. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with a Major in Veterinary Technology. Kayla was born and raised in Greenville and still currently resides there with her 11 cats: Dodger, Alley, Penny, Pita, Shelby, Wonk-E, Bruce, Nutmeg, Sunny, Kovu and Simon; a Leopard Gecko named Dude; her dog Hank and 3 Parakeets named Kiwi, Maize and Fig. Known as the "cat lady" at the office, she loves all animals equally but cats hold a special place in her heart. Kayla also enjoys researching pet nutrition, and hopes to become certified as a hospice and euthanasia technician in the near future.

Marisa Lorenzoni

Marisa Lorenzoni was born in upstate New York, but moved to South Carolina when she was 8 years old. She was surprised by the variety of cultural differences, but she realized that she loved the south! As a child, she had a passion for animals and wanted to strive towards a career in which she could explore that passion. In 2012 she joined the Cleveland Park Animal Hospital family as a kennel technician. In 2014, her hard work and determination allowed her to graduate from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with a Major in Veterinary Technology. She passed her boards in 2015 and became a full time LVT for the practice. She enjoys finding forever homes for other animals as well. Away from work she enjoys hiking and spending time with her dog, Buzz and fiance, Cameron. Family is also a big part of her life!

Lucas Eades

Lucas Eades joined the CPAHTR team in February of 2016.  Before joining our team, Lucas worked as a veterinary technician in Seneca for about a year.  Lucas graduated from the veterinary technician program at Tri-County Tech in May of  2017 and became licensed shorty thereafter.  Being  a lifelong resident of Pickens South Carolina, Lucas has gained much experience with caring for animals such as chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats and horses.  Lucas is a member of Gap Hill Church of God where he enjoys serving the church as worship leader for the youth and college group as well as singing in the choir.  Besides serving God in everyday life, Lucas loves spending time with family, friends and his pets.

Sarah  Pressley

Sarah Pressley was born and raised in the upstate of South Carolina. She spent her childhood outdoors with a variety of farm animals including horses, goats, ducks, cows and chickens. As she got older, she began to develop an interest in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from Pickens High School in 2010, she attended Tri-County Technincal College's Veterinary Technology program. She graduated in 2014 from college with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her first job as a technician was in her hometown of Pickens where she worked 2 years in a small animal practice. While there she passed both State and National boards and is now a licensed veterinary technician as well as gaining essential experience in a veterinary hospital. Sarah joined Cleveland Park TR in March of 2016 where she hopes to further her knowledge and experience with both small and large animals. In her downtime, she spends a lot of time in the woods talking with God and enjoying his creations.  She loves fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping when she has the time. She and her husband of 4 years live off the beaten path in the Table Rock area with their 4 dogs, Pup, Ruger, and Kimba.

Nicole Singleton

Nicole Southerlin started with us in May of 2017. She is a native of Greenville and plans on staying here. After graduating high school, she decided to attend technician assistant school, but that was not enough for her so she decided to get her license as a Veterinary Technician, LVT. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2017. We love having Nicole around. She is a great technician with a very loving personality. Her hobbies include fishing, hiking and attending car shows with her fiancé Adam. She has many fur babies, Piper, Peaches, Ginger and No No. They are her loves! 

Heather Clemente

Heather Clemente grew up off the beaches of South Florida, but eventually moved to South Carolina with her family in search of a slightly cooler climate, and beautiful changing seasons. Heather is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science and has continued to work full-time as a Veterinary technician at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since graduating Travelers Rest High School in 2011. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Nil and Ety. Nil is a registered therapy dog who volunteers at local elementary schools and assisted living facilities. Ety also has extensive training as a multi-purpose working dog. 

Shauna Warlick

Shauna Warlick joined the team at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital of Travelers Rest in 2018.  She has been in the field for several years . She attended Tri-County Technical College to recieve her associate degree in applied science with a major in veterinary technology. Futhermore, becoming licensed as an LVT by the SCLLR. Shauna grew up in the upstate and now raises her 3 children in the area.  They enjoy going camping, hunting, and fishing together.  Shauna has always been an animal lover and has dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and reptiles in her home.  She feels blessed to be a part of Travelers Rest Animal Hospital and has plans of staying with us long term. Shauna truly has a passion to help animals through their anxiety and make every vet visit a positive experience.

Eva Chaney

Eva started her career with Travelers Rest Animal Hospital as a receptionist in October of 2018 and has since moved into a veterinary technician position. During her time here at trAH, Eva has discovered that she really enjoys draining abscesses and affectionately gets called the pimple popper by her co-workers. She has always enjoyed the movie "The Sound of Music" because it reminds her of her home. In her spare time, Eva loves to travel, especially to the warmer climates, and enjoys hiking in the great outdoors with her wonderful Great Danes, Maclin and Templar.

Jessica Greene

Jessica Green joined our team in July of 2020. In May of that year, she graduated from Furman University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. You can pick her out of our crazy crew as being the girl who is a complete sucker for schnauzers! She loves all of her patients, but schnauzers have a special place in her heart! Jess has always had a passion for animals and wanted to be a veterinarian, long before she was even able to say the word. These passions pushed her to start working in the veterinary industry at the age of 15 as a kennel assistant.

Throughout the years, she gradually moved into the role of a technician. As of today, she has officially been a technician for 5 years and plans on applying for vet school soon. In the meantime, she’s really enjoying each day as a technician! After work, you’ll probably find her at home on her couch with a book and her fur babies-Lance, Layla, and Leo.

David Balles

David Balles

David is a senior attending North Greenville University in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Biology with an Animal Science focus. He joined Cleveland Park as a kennel/veterinary assistant in August 2016. He was born in Hawaii and moved to South Carolina 10 years ago. He has built a life and family here that he truly loves and enjoys. His goal after graduation from NGU is to be accepted into veterinary school and earn his DVM. He also aspires to come back after a few years of veterinary practice to be a professor at North Greenville University. He would love to help students achieve the same dreams he is working toward. He is very passionate to be able to give back to the college that has given so much to him!

Hannah McCall

Meet Hannah, one of our newest technicians here. She is currently in school to further her knowledge and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has experience working at an Emergency Animal Hospital and loves the rush of the ER but currently falling in love with the day clinic life! She excels at patient care and loves getting a laugh out of everyone here at trAH. You can find her easily by the contagious laugh of hers!

Madison Faulkner

Madison was born and raised in Greer, SC. She graduated from Byrnes High School in 2018. She became a member of our team August of 2020 as a boarding technician and then worked herself up to a veterinary technician. From the time she was a little girl she knew she wanted to pursue her dream in veterinary medicine. It’s a passion that never faded. She is blessed to be a part of such a wonderful team at trAH. In her downtime, she spends a lot of her time outdoors, on the back of a horse or with her little girl Aubrey Lynn and her fur babies; Bubba, Cedar, Tex and horse Ace.

Sam joined trAH's team in 2016. Having always been an animal fanatic, she chose to pursue that passion at Clemson and graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Animal Agribusiness. She is a lifelong resident of the upstate and moved back to Greenville folllowing graduation. In 2018, she married her college sweetheart and now has a 6-rescue-strong fur family. They enjoy hiking and biking with their dogs, spending time with family and friends, and being on the lake.

Anna Little

Anna Little
Veterinary Technician Assistant

Anna was born and raised in Greenville, SC.  She graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 2020 and joined our team in July of that year.  She is currently attending Clemson University with a major in Animal and Veterinary Science, looking to pursue a career as a veterinarian.  During her occasional free time, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her sweet kitty, Luna.

Brian was born and raised here in South Carolina. He graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2011 and then went on to receive a bachelor’s in Arts degree at North Greenville University. He was hired on to work in the kennel and then soon started working as a veterinary technician assistant.

Theresa DeGrote

Theresa was born and raised in Orange County NY. Her first job as a kid was in a large animal hospital working in the kennels After high school she relocated to the Midwest, working in a training facility in Kansas City. After 3 years, she decided to move to Travelers Rest SC, where her immediate family had relocated. Since then, she has worked as a kennel technician, veterinary assistant, and receptionist in different clinics in Greer and Greenville.

Theresa spends her free time with her three amazing children, Ava, Adrianna, and Landyn. She also loves spending time with her four dogs and 7 cats. Theresa has been an active foster parent for several dogs over the years and continues to help rescues wherever she can. She loves the lake, mountains, and local music. 

Lauren Collins

Lauren Collins was born and raised in Greenville, SC. She joined our team in May 2021. Lauren has always had a passion for any kind of animal since she was little. She lives with one cat, a red-heeled, blue heeler, and six plot hounds.

Lauren graduated from Blue Ridge High School in January 2021 and will be starting her second semester at Greenville Tech in August. She plans to get an Associate’s Degree in Business and to be Certified in Vet Assistance and Grooming.

Heather Ashley was born and raised in Greenville SC. She joined our team in 2017. She graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2008 with her certification in Veterinarian Assisting. She has one fur baby, Watson. In her free time, she enjoys attending Clemson games with her husband and is always at a baseball field with her three kids.

Elisabeth Terry grew up in Greenville, SC, and has lived all around the upstate. She enjoys Travelers Rest for the small town community feeling. Elisabeth graduated from Greenville Technical College with a Certificate in Professional Grooming and Animal Care in August of 2017. She worked as a groomer for several years before joining Travelers Rest Animal Hospital in May of 2019. Elisabeth loves her fluffy clients and is excited to see new faces. Her Border Collie mix, Panda, keeps her on her toes!
